B&W Display: This watch does not have color, which is a good thing. The display is high contrast black and white. This makes it easier to see details. Wrist Heart Rate: After a workout I use the Garmin Connect app to see the "Time in Zones". This watch is adequate to do this. If you want to be able to look at your watch during a workout and see the exact heart rate at that moment, then maybe a strap would work better. Keyword might. I don't miss the HR strap. Lightweight but not high fashion: 53 grams, which is much lighter than a Fenix. Software is built in: I don't think you can get 3rd party watch faces and apps via Connect IQ. However, there is a ton of functionality built in to the watch. I found the owner's manual PDF online and I am learning how to click through the menus.
