A must have for an auto immune/immuno suppresed patient
I first heard about MCT oil after reading about "The Wild Diet".The Wild Diet: Get Back to Your Roots, Burn Fat, and Drop Up to 20 Pounds in 40 Days The main idea of the book is that to lose fat, you need to eat more fat. Because I was already loosely following a paleo diet, this was a fairly easy transition for me. A huge part of this is "intermittent fasting". From dinner time to about 11AM, I do not eat. The only thing that goes into my mouth between those times are medications(I'll get to that shortly), water and Abel's "fatty coffee". Before receiving this oil, my fatty coffee consisted of organic grass fed heavy whipping cream, coconut oil, organic grass fed butter(Kerrygold, unsalted), either almond or vanilla extract and 100% cacao powder. For awhile, this was very successful for me. I lost not only weight, but actual fat. My muscle mass actually went UP a few pounds! I was never hungry before it was time to eat and rarely ever hungry at all until I did break my fast. I had been wanting to try adding MCT oil instead of coconut oil because of the high fat content and health benefits. The regular fatty coffee did give me a bit of a boost in the morning but I needed more. I recently started more aggressive treatment for my auto immune disease, which is why I have such a strict diet. I take the minimal amount of medications because I do believe diet and lifestyle can affect your health but at this point, it is far too advanced to not use them and could literally kill me. So, I started an IV treatment, in the chemotherapy class. I spent two days hanging over a toilet and so groggy that I missed the gym for almost a week. Generally it takes me being deathly ill for that to happen, so it was pretty bad. Along with all of that, I also struggle using the bathroom regularly. This is a side effect of the stomach medication I use to protect my stomach from my very strong anti inflammatory damaging it. I was hoping this oil would at least help me to use the bathroom. Abel said to be careful with the dosage because this could be a side effect, but I was actually hoping to get that side effect. The first day I used it, I used one tablespoon in my coffee. This was just a few days after my first treatment, and the day before I had to leave the grocery store because I got so nauseated and fatigued. I didn't notice any distinct flavor that is any different from the coconut oil I use, it didn't change the texture but did have to be blended well. I noticed a boost in energy within an hour. I thought perhaps it was my infusion starting to work. I had no luck in the bathroom department though, so the next day I used 2 tablespoons in my morning coffee and took one more later on in the day. It says 3 tablespoons is the max dose, but I apparently needed that because it's been really helpful for helping my stomach. I've been less nauseous, have way more energy, and I am able to function better. I also lost the water weight from the infusion plus 1.2lbs of fat in just a couple days! I am really impressed. I wasn't sure that this would work, but I'm a believer now and will ALWAYS be a customer. I received this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
