Love!!!
These are very good looking & a nice quality for under $30. I bought the tan & the taupe. I was going to decide between them and send one pair back. I prefer the taupe color but I really like both so I am going to keep both pair. I just might get a pair in black too.
Its true that there is no arch support, but i'm flat-footed and high arches hurt my feet. I definitely prefer a flatter sole, so no problem there....the foot-bed is not cushioned and I thought that might hurt my feet, but I wore medium-thickness cushioned socks and walked around campus quite a bit today with no discomfort at all. I have picky feet that get sore easily so I was pleasantly surprised.
I saw that a few reviewers had an issue with nails sticking up out of the foot-bed (eek!) so I made sure to check carefully before sticking my feet in. No nails in either pair---phew!....The only flaw that I found is that one of the snaps of the folded cuff (taupe color, inner part of the right shoe) will not stay snapped. It seems to be mis-positioned and pops open every time I try to snap it. But this isn't a problem for me because you can't even tell. The folded part stays down just fine without the snaps.
My boot size is usually anywhere from 7-8 because sizing can be so inconsistent from brand to brand. I have a few pair of Sorel boots (in the old-school whole sizes they used prior to coming out with the 1/2 sizes) that are a U.S. women's size 7, but my normal running/trainer shoe size is a U.S. women's 8 (in new balance, asics & Sanuk brands). I decided to go with size 8 for these boots and i'm glad I did. They fit perfectly. There is enough room for thicker socks without feeling like my feet are squeezed in, but I also tried them on at home with thinner socks & they don't slip or feel too big. They really do fit perfectly for me. :)
