I spent thousands of dollars on a winch bumper and winch for a remote elk hunt in Wyoming. I originally ordered 1 black set of these boards, and last minute got another set in olive, thinking if the winch couldn't help, it would be good insurance. I used the four boards in multiple scenarios in 10-14" of snowfall when we were inches from a drop off. Both situations required us going backward, not forward (winch was front mounted). These boards are magic! I saw reviews of them melting. I have pretty good off road tires and I went slow, usually in 4 low but not always, and the tires just grabbed the boards and walked right out of our sticky situations. I even used them to help a fella in chevy avalanche who had BFG AT's. We were 3 hours drive from cell service and the closest person was probably 2 hours drive. I am a believer! Additionally, I use a rooftop tent and used these to level the vehicle on uneven ground. Even in -10*F temps they did not crack, and I have a fully loaded 3/4 ton Excursion. After several recoveries and parking on them overnight several times as well, they are still good as new. Not a single bend, crack, or melt. I wish I'd taken pictures of our sticky situations we used them in, but we were entirely too occupied with concentrating on not falling down a ravine at the time. But I attached photos of using them for leveling under my stupid heavy rig. Updated 1/28/19 to show how I mounted them with ratchet straps to my spare tire. I was also able to slide a cable lock through the holes molded into the boards for theft prevention.
