I Am Definitely Happier
I am in my mid-seventies and the naturally-occurring fat foot pad under my forefoot has diminished with age. I feel like I'm walking on pebbles or my own metatarsal bare foot bones. It is quite uncomfortable. The magazine Consumer Reports on Health by Consumers Union had a recent response to a subscriber about this phenomenon and the magazine editors recommended gel insoles. Well..., I bought a couple of them and found them uncomfortable and unstabilizing--no improvement at all. I did more research and bought other recommended brands/styles. I tried HappyStep Shoe Insoles and they came close to near-perfection in comforting the bottom of my feet--maybe perfection isn't possible. My heel is not a problem, but these also add comfort to that section of the foot. I was ready to donate some hardly-used expensive casual shoes due to their insole discomfort, but I can now wear them. Thank goodness. Now, the question is: "How long will these spongy, but stable, inserts remain this comfortable, as compared to, say, Superfeet Blue (also sold on Amazon), which are stiffer, but came in a very close second for comfort and stability via my testing. Also, HappyStep costs just under $14 and Superfeet Blue costs just under $50--go figure.
