So far, so good. It runs a little slowly when loaded down with ties. (I hope the little motor last). However at first impression it is much better than the only other automatic tie holder that I see advertised. This model is very stable on my regular sized coat hanger rod and appears to be very substantial. The last model that I had could not be tightened so that it didn't rotate on the rod and eventually the top portion broke away from the bottom. This appears to be a big improvement.
