I purchased these plates as an alternative to the more expensive LEGO brand. As you can see in the picture, the green with this set (bottom) is darker than the current green (top) being sold by LEGO. The original LEGO green (middle), which was sold several years ago, is a shade lighter. The grey color plate in this set is a match to the current LEGO grey. The plate thickness with these plates appears to be the same as the LEGO brand, and I haven't noticed any issues with LEGO bricks not working or not sticking with the plates. They have a little tighter fit, but otherwise seem to work fine. It's also worth noting that these plates have a little bit of a shine to them; more so than the LEGO brand plates. I honestly purchased these plates because of the blue plates. I will most likely be purchasing more as a way to minimize the cost of the LEGO brand plates.
