Ergobaby 360 - Best Carrier for Babies Over 12 Pounds (review compares Ergobaby 360 to Babybjorn One carriers)
I first purchased the Babybjorn One carrier because I wanted the option of having my baby face outward when she gets a little older (she is ten weeks and over 12 pounds now). I had not heard about the Ergobaby 360 carrier until after buying and trying out the BB One so I decided to purchase the Ergo 360 after reading so many good reviews about it. I was able to directly compare the two carriers by having them both. After trying out the Ergo 360, I immediately returned the BB One. You'll see why after reading my comparison: Babybjorn One: Pros: Can use with newborns without infant insert Super easy to put on and slip baby inside Baby is very snug and comfortable in carrier for long periods of time (we went on an hour long hike) Carrier did not hurt my back or shoulders (much) when worn for up to an hour Cons: In the manual's suggested newborn position, the baby is not in an ergonomically correct position (they're in a crotch-dangling position) Baby is also in a crotch-dangling position in the forward-facing position Baby's legs get in the way of walking or doing anything comfortably when they are dangling so much in these positions Carrier feels very heavy and gets uncomfortable and hot after a while I never felt like I could get all the straps to adjust comfortably No storage pockets Only available in a black color Ergobaby 360: Pros: Super comfortable and lightweight... Feel like I could wear it for hours without even feeling like I'm carrying a baby Baby is in ergonomically correct position in all the different carrier positions Easy to put on, take off, and adjust perfectly Baby is very comfortable being carried in it for long periods of time Comes in a nice gray color (which I have) Cons: Have to use an infant insert for newborns Velcro waist is super loud when taking off (always scares baby) No storage pockets In the end, carrying my baby in an ergonomically correct position at all times was the most important factor in my decision to keep the Ergo 360 and return the BB One. Also, the comfort of the Ergo 360 for both the wearer and the baby just can't be beat. I would have liked to give it 5 stars if it weren't for the three minor inconveniences above.
