I love this bag. I can do short trips (3-5 days) usually without too much struggle. I also had tried the Small Underseater, and while it fits even easier, as long as you don't really overstuff this bag, it will fit under the seat. In fact, I have more problems if I get upgraded to 1st on American and try to put it under the bigger 2x2 seats, vs the 3x3 coach seats on a 737 or A320 series. For some reason the 1st-class seats have lower clearance. Even in a situation where I get a roll-aboard sized carry-on and 1 checked bag for free, this bag is still my first choice. If the trip is going to push over 1 week I'll still try to make it work and launder things halfway through. The bonus with this Underseater bag is that you don't have to fight for overhead bin space and you can be on your way quickly without wasting time at baggage claim. At check in go straight to the checkpoint. Many nice pockets and compartments. Be careful with your tablets in the side pockets, but they fit a 7" tab wonderfully. Just don't drop the bag on its side. Again, don't overstuff or you will be struggling to get it under the seat. I recommend a set of packing bags to make packing/unpacking easier and to maximize the use of space. Almost all of the time I just remove my shoes and shove the whole bag through and they never make me re run it. I think as long as your toiletries are small and not gallon sized containers of lotion, you'll be fine. Coming out of the Caymans their security made me take my small shave cream and such out of the clear plastic window of the toiletry bag and put it in a clear plastic zip lock bag and run it through their 1960 x-ray machine. Because that makes sense. And don't we all feel much safer. Clear plastic =/= clear plastic in their little world. Richest island nation on this marble and it's still a "3rd world" country. Ahem. Anyway, if you are going to Cancun on Spirit for the week, you're not going to wear much besides your suit & sandals. Learn to pack light (even as a business traveler) and save yourself time & money!
