The sound quality of these speakers is far better than the default speakers you get with most laptops. Another reviewer (Dave Thompson) gave some great advice about changing the property settings for these speakers which I'll repeat here: Look at the "properties" in the Playback Devices for this device, click the "Enhancements" tab, and turn on "Bass Boost", "Virtual Surround", and "Loudness Equalization". Also set the level to 100% in the "Levels" tab for this device. If you don't change the property settings the sound quality isn't much better than laptop speakers. Level to 100% was a bit too loud for me so I set the level to about 70%. I had a little trouble finding these property settings. But once I found them and made the changes, the sound was so much better. As long as these speakers last a while (just bought them), they are a good choice at a reasonable price.
