Had you asked me to rate this on the first day I owned this product, I would have given it a three star rating. Now, on Day 2, it's a 5 star rating. Why? When I first got the MagGrip, I slid it on the vent in my car, attached the phone using the metal plate provided (which went between my case and the phone) and off I went. The MagGrip held the phone with no problems. However, when I went to slide the phone off the magnet, the entire MagGrip came loose from the vent. I didn't like that at all. On the second day of using it, I was about to reattach it to the vent for the fifth or sixth time when I took a closer look at the rear of the unit, ie, the grippers. I noticed that the 4 rubber grippers were not evenly spaced. The horizontal gap was twice as large as the vertical gap. Epiphany! Not all cars have the same thickness of vent louvers, some are thinner than others. Sure enough, once I turned the MagGrip 90 degrees the tighter spacing held onto my vent with sufficient grip to allow me to remove the phone without pulling the MagGrip off the vent. I couldn't be happier. The MagGrip construction is first rate and it held my large Galaxy Note 4 over some really bumpy roads without any trouble. Just take the time to use the appropriate orientation for your vent size and I think you will be pleased with this item.
