If you need or like a real clock as opposed to your cell phone, as I do, this is THE perfect one. Runs on two AA batteries... it's a sweep hand so it's COMPLETELY silent which is a big deal to me. Plus there is a setting that back lights the face of the clock in the dark... just a little bit... enough to see if you wake up and want to know the time, but NOT enough to keep you awake because it's a beacon. It's a nice size... a lot of color options.. I chose the black case with the white face. It's about 4"x4" just eyeballing it. For me the perfect size to set on my night stand and I can see it when I don't have my contacts in. Honestly, I've gone through a couple recently TRYING to find the perfect clock and this one is it for me. Arrived quickly (I have prime) and in good condition. As always, if there are any issues, I will not hesitate to update my review. Further I do NOT receive any compensation for my reviews. UPDATE: 2-15-2016 Just a quick update... Still LOVING this clock... I wanted to mention that the soft light that lights the face when it's dark is an amberish (soft yellow)... so it doesn't keep you awake like a bright white or blue hue. Honestly, it's the best clock I've had in years. UPDATE: 3-31-2016... I purchased 2 more of these for other bedrooms.... they are just the best. In size and function... in design. They run silently. The are just bright enough at night, but not so bright they keep you up. It's soft, amber glow - a color that doesn't disrupt sleep like bright white or blue hues... I remain a devoted fan. UPDATE: 4-19-2016... Ok... I purchased yet another for travel... BUT... I accidently ordered the "black" face with white print... I do NOT think it is as easy to read as the white face with black print.... It's still the perfect, silent running clock - plenty noisy when you want it to be for an alarm... BUT I do not recommend the black face and white print. Just a personal opinion...
