First I will say I am a working professional chef . I have been looking for a new knife for the kitchen and decided to give this a try. I am far from disappointed !!! I love this blade . It has a wonderful feel and great balance , not to mention it can get crazyy sharp. Yes the knife comes very sharp, bt after putting my stones on it it is sharper than I could even imagine . Very high quality steel. Effortless cutting and slicing, and after a full day I am not fatigued. Nice heft as a german knife would with the sharpness and agility of Japanese. I highly recommend this blade. will be getting another one as a backup .
