I am a plumber. This filter works great. It is a shame that people who probably have never had experience with pipe threads, plastic or not, gave this a bad review. I guarantee there was flaw in there attempt to thread a male fitting into the plastic female threads, not the filter head itself. Use quality teflon tape And or pipe dope and start by screwing the nipple or fitting in backwards first until you feel the last thread of the male click into the start of the female thread...then turn it clockwise to tighten it. If it feels really tight maybe it is not starting straight or you have too much teflon wrapped around the male thread.
