Purchased this from the Amazon Warehouse, so it was a very good deal for a solid system. I installed the components in cheap plastic tubs (with an alarm), in case of leaks. After 3 years of continuous use everything is dry, and that includes annual filter changes and the addition of an Aquatec ERP-500 Permeate Pump. I only wish I had installed the permeate pump sooner as it makes the system much more efficient and produces a noticeable increase in clean-water (permeate) pressure. I regularly use a TDS meter (Digital Total Dissolved Solids Water Hardness Test Meter ) to evaluate the water and results are typically in the under-15-area as opposed to my water-softened tap water supply, which runs in the 300+ range (which is fine for "softened" water). The water tastes great and is excellent for any cleaning purpose where you do not want any scale residue and don't need gallons of water. I use this water to spray down some fancy glass we have outside and the glass is left spot-free as opposed to being covered with white spots from our very hard outside water.
