This fit perfectly in our shower drain and has saved us from repeated hair clogs that our standard drain cover wasn't stopping. To install, you simply unscrew the existing drain cover and lay this in the drain opening. A small portion does protrude above the surface of the shower floor, but this does not impact our shower experience. In a shower/tub combo, it wouldn't be at all noticeable. The stainless steel and silicone construction is a better choice for the environment than using harsh chemicals to clear a drain.
