This is a great beginner/intermediate set for a student or home use. You can easily use it at a clinic too because it pretty well made. It does not tell you what kind of battery it takes anywhere so for those that are curious it takes 2 C batteries for the main device and 2 AAA batteries for the ear wax remover. The magnification for the otoscope was great, with the little flashlight I could easily see the earwax in my sons ear. With the lighted earwax remover I clean his ears easily. The earwax remover tip was a little too flexible and sharp so my son was complaining it hurts when I was scraping the side. But eventually he got use to it. I also exam his eyes and it worked without any problem but wish it was able to zoom in a little closer because I wanted a higher magnification to get a closer look. The base made of chrome and has a nice texture so can be easily be held without slipping. Can easily switch between otoscope to othamalscope by simple twist on and off. Everytning can be organized in the zipper carrying case so you can also make housecall for those physicians.
