Definitely the RIGHT pick!
I love listening to music... all kinds of music. I have been using my phone for my MP3 player for several years now and, while it works well, I find it kind of frustrating that I run my battery down so quickly listening and putting the music on and off the phone always takes more time and effort than I like. I missed the "good old days" of my drag and drop MP3 player. My wife (also a big music fan) echoed my sentiments. So... Let the researching begin! Have you been looking at MP3 players here on Amazon for long? Overwhelming, yes? So, I looked and compared, looked some more and compared some more and slowly narrowed my choice to this Evida MP3 player. Now, 32 GB is nice, but I wasn't ready to get a larger card (which I can fill!) until I really knew what I was getting. Well, it arrived yesterday and here's what I found: 1) The packaging was really great. While I'm not a big packaging fan, I have noticed that the better the product the better the packaging tends to be... So, seeing this sort of set the tone (No pun intended!). 2) Why, what's this??? It arrived fully charged! When did I last experience that? NEVER! The bar, as they say, began to rise. 3) The build quality is spectacular. The player has a little heft to it, more than I would have expected for such a small player. It feels good in my (large) hands. It feels solid and durable, not a bit flimsy. 4) I will not kid you about this, it took a few minutes to get the hang of the navigation/menu selection process. When I see touch screen I expect that the whole screen is touchable... this is not the case with this player. Now, please note that this is not a complaint or a "knock-down" of any sort. EVERY piece of tech has a bit of a learning curve and while it took a few minutes it was not difficult and once I got the hang of it it was just fine. Actually it's very simple to use. 5) I plugged it into my (Windows 10) laptop and almost immediately the file manager box opened up inviting me to add some music to it. I was able to drag a few folders of music onto the player easy as I expected it would be and could not have been more pleased with the speed at which the transfers occurred. 6) I had some difficulty playing back the first album that I played. Upon further investigation the software that ripped the music from my CD caused the small glitch. This was my first time playing this particular album after ripping it so the fault was entirely mine. It should be fixed with a re-ripping of the CD (I hope). Everything else played well. the menu system for the albums is a little bit funky, but I suspect just needs some getting used to. 7) What? No head phones? Yep... built in speakers. While not what I would want to use for day to day listening, they should work just fine when puttering around and listening to something in the background. The sound quality is just a bit too much on the high end for my taste. I have not yet tried the built in equalizer (personal preference here, again) but may give that a try later and see how it changes... I want to stress that this is not a problem, just an observation. 8) Headphones included! Let me state for you right here that I am, unapologetically, a headphone snob. I expect to HEAR and hear VERY well, what I am listening to with headphones on. There is nothing worse than a bad set of headphones that to not reproduce what you are listening to. With all of that said up front, the included headphones are bad... they are not the best, but they exceeded my (admittedly high) expectations. 9) Connecting to my Bluetooth headphones was very easy. 10) Screen quality... maybe I should have mentioned this before. The screen works well. It's colorful and clear. Personally I would like to see it be a bit brighter, but the trade off for that is that the brighter the screen, the shorter the battery life. So... I'll take the screen as is. Not sure how it will be in full bright sun (it's early January here in Missouri and overcast) but if it won't work in the full sun, I can find a tree to stand under to do what needs to be done. 11) The car connection. So, this, I'm sure, will vary a lot from car to car. I can connect with Bluetooth to my 2020 Kia Soul and it works great. The only Problem is that I then loose my Android Auto Connection from my phone. I have a limit of only one Bluetooth device connecting to the car at a time. I'm sure this will work itself out. Also, I can plug the player into the car with a cable and it reads like a USB stick. Again, this sacrifices my phone and it's Android Auto connection... I'm sure this will be resolved by setting a priority or two on my part. So, there you have it... my lengthy review. I highly recommend this Evida MP3 Player if you are looking for a good solid choice.
