This ironing board is very sturdy. I had returned 2 other ironing boards prior to purchasing the Xabitat Deluxe Ironing board. The other 2 ironing boards were either too heavy and bulky or too light and flimsy. This one is great. Glad I finally found one that seems both sturdy and safe and isn't too heavy or bulky to move around. Also has a hanging rack which is another important feature.
