Great disposable set
I’m a vintage fountain pen collector, but sometimes I just want a disposable fountain pen I can throw into my bag without worrying about losing it, damaging it, or whatever.
This colorful set comes in a sturdy case that makes them easy to store and tote. Thornton’s Office Supplies disposable pens are slightly longer and slightly thicker than the Pilot Varsity disposable, which actually makes it more comfortable in my hand. Disposable does not mean a substandard writing experience. These pens write smoothly with no skipping. They draw a wet line and start right away. As for the colors, I think they’re lovely. Yes, the yellow is, well, yellow, and perhaps is not the best color for writing, but it is good for highlighting and coloring art projects.
These pens are medium point, and are true medium. I say that because medium Pilot Varsity points can tend toward fine (as most Japanese manufactured fountain pens do) and these are definitely medium. I’ve added photos of the difference in line width (the Varsity is the dark ink, Thornton's the sky blue) and of the colors.
Good pens, good price, lovely colors.
