I started off by filling my Kenmore top loader with very hot water; I turned the water heater up to the level below the warning about blowing up my house. I then dropped two of the cubes as instructed into the washer tub, and then waited for about a couple of hours, and then started the wash cycle. As soon as the washer started agitating, I noticed some black specks in the water, but not much. But what I did notice is that after the first drain, and spin cycle, the tub was sparkling white... it looked brand new! Even the agitator was white and looked new. Everywhere the solution touched got very clean. The very top of the tub and agitator didn't get cleaned, like the first two rows of holes or so, but the solution never touched those areas, so that's understandable. I'll just use some Comet cleanser for that...no biggie. But here's the good part. After the drain and spin, I filled the tub up again with smoking hot water again for the rinse cycle, and let it do its thing. I noticed a looot of black and grey crap in the rinse water...I was shocked! I don't know why it didn't come out in the wash water, but it sure came out in the rinse water. While the machine was neutral draining... the pump was still pumping out whatever it was with the water. When it started spray rinsing and spinning...even more came out. That had to be all of the gunk that had built up on the plastic outer tub, and the other side of the inner tub over the years. Whatever it was, a lot of it is gone now. I've got every intention of repeating the process all over again sometime next month. This stuff actually works, and to be honest... I really didn't expect it to. I've never actually bought washer cleaner before, because I always thought it was just a gimmick, and I'd just get some Comet cleanser and try to clean the wash tub by hand when it got too dirty, but this product is well worth the $16 or so that I paid for it. Hell... I'd pay even more for it...now that I know how well it works. It's my washer cleaner go to from now on! Hopefully...they don't change anything with the chemicals, and mess things up like companies have a habit of doing. Oh...I didn't smell much of a scent to this product, so that's ok with me...I could care less about how it smelled anyway. I don't know how this compares to other washing machine cleaners, because this is the first time I've ever used any of them, but like I said in the title... I'm impressed with this one.
