The clamp to attach the front light has a thumb screw that is easy to loosen/tighten. There is a rubber insert on the inside of the clamp so the light stays secure against the handle bar. The light slides into the holder and has anther thumb screw to tighten. So, no tools needed to attach to bike and only takes a few minutes. The front light is like a flash light and has a thumb switch in the end of the handle. You can cycle between bright, less bright and blinking. The front part of the light slides so you can make the light a very tight or open pattern. The rear light is designed to wrap around something like the seat post and has elastic so it wraps and hooks. this is a red light with fast blink, slow blink and steady light [no blink] The front light can also be slid out to use as a regular flashlight.
