Even though these markers are not perfect they are the best after prismacolor. I purchased the 36 set a few weeks ago and saw there is now a 42 pen set so naturally I bought it. I will add a picture that shows the 6 new pen colors. Do yourself a favor and make a color guide with the real pen markings so you have a real representation of true colors the pens make. They do not always match the cap color. I would say they are a bit dull and muted. Does not have a good true red pen. As far as bleed through, in my thick double sided Secret Garden coloring book even with dark colors there has been no bleed through. Also, the behavior of the ink has a lot to do with the paper you are coloring on. I find thinner paper gives me less precise control of where the ink goes but with thick paper it's amazing. I have added a picture of the actual colors that each pen makes. I put a sticker on each cap. As you can see not all the cap colors match the ink.
