MUST HAVE
A long time ago, when controversy started to gain momentum, I pledged to myself that I would never buy any Limecrime products. Thankfully, I got over myself and ordered the Venus Bundle.
First of all, these did NOT come in the adorable floral Limecrime packaging that you may see on Instagram or other social media. I did order these on prime, with 2 day shipping, which may have had an effect on the shipment. They came wrapped in bubble wrap in a brown amazon box, pretty basic. The packaging on the palette itself is GORGEOUS, and features a more glamorous depiction of "The Birth of Venus" on the front. I'm an art nerd, so this was very appealing to me.
Now moving on the the quality of the shadows themselves -- they were everything I was hoping for and more. The shadows are so buttery and smooth and bendable, even more so than my Kat Von D Shade ans Light Eye palette. There was hardly and fallout when I applied it to the eyes but it was a little powdery when I dipped my brush in - but hardly anything to be worried about. The pigmentation on most of them was so incredibly intense and hardly took any building to get the desired opacity.
The only disappointing thing was that the shade "Boot" in the Venus II palette was hardly pigmented and all and I couldn't seem to build it up on it's own, however it looks lovely over a black base (like Nyx's black bean jumbo eye pencil)
Overall, this palette exceeded my expectations and I highly highly highly recommend it to anyone. If you're having second thoughts about it, don't. Literally. Get it now. You want it, you need it, you will love it.
(PS- my cellphone camera did the swatches NO justice, especially "pigeon" (the top shade on the venus ii swatches) which has a beautiful brown blue duochrome.)
