Because of the length and side ruching, this top does a fantastic job in hiding some middle age pudge around the waist. I'm 5'10", ~170 pounds, average bust size for my height and normally wear a large in tops and size 12 pants. I took other reviewers' advice and bought this a size smaller (medium) and I liked it so much that a bought a few more in different colors. I've washed it several times in the washer (even thought the tag says to hand wash), and it held up well - shrunk up a tiny bit but the top is roomy and long enough to accommodate the shrinkage and still fit nicely. I bought one LARGE in another color, and although it fits okay, it's not as flattering as the medium and is too low cut for me - so I'm sticking with the mediums. I thought the price was very reasonable, given how comfortable and versatile the tops are - both the white and rose colored ones I have look very nice with dress pants. I wear the grey one to work-out, play with grandkids, or wear just out and about. I highly recommend these tops for anyone looking for a more slenderizing effect at the waistline.
