Combination Oily skin, normal skin tone, Acne prone skin Review VS. Clinique dark spot correcor
I am from indian (not Native American) descent, so my skin is a bit tanner than most causian females, but I am on the "fair" end of my type of people. My skin is usually oily, and acne prone. I have the skin type where Proactive works the best to treat my acne. Over the years proactive kind of stopped working for me (Ive been using it for about 6 years) and my acne came back with vengance and the fact that since I was in college I was too poor to afford proactive and I have habit of picking at my skin and it lead to the my scarring my skin. I used to have such good skin and it made me really insecure that now I couldn't just leave the house with no make up on. I decided to do something about it, instead of covering it up. I tried to go back on Proactive and it got rid of my acne but not the scars, so to treat the dark spots I invested in Clinque dark spot corrector and WOW...that was such a waste of money, I broke out even more and I started getting cold sores on my lips. Since I am a biology major I looked up the ingredients and its effects on the skin, and it turns out clinque made my skin really sensitve and prone to UV light....well this shit isnt ideal for a normal person that doesnt live in cave. SO bottom line it will work...if you are a hermit and live in a basement for the period you try it, but once your exposed to sun, it WILL CAUSE MORE SUN SPOTS and after that I was just left scarred and was becoming desperate. So i decided to give this L'oreal serum a try and ITS AMAZING! after just 4 days I noticed my dark spots were fading and every morning I would have a glow on my face. I used this twice a day and MAKE SURE TO APPLY SUN SCREEN. However, if you have my skin type the serum does make your skin a little greasy and sticky (but not to a annoying level) thruought the day...nothing a little face powder cant fix. When your using this, please be gentle with your face, your skin is trying to "turn-over" (look it up on Wikipedia) so baby your skin and treat it gently...using gentle cleansers. I still use my proactive cleansers but I mix it with cetaphil or Purity cleanser and massage my skin....dont try to microderm or any heavy grinding on your face. Sorry this was long...but I know when I read reviews I want people to include these details.
