I like to keep a container of iced carbonated water next to where I sleep. I often wake up at night and like a drink of ice water. I've done this for years. In fact this is the third special ice water containers I have used in the last few years. This is by far the best one. The failing that the others had was that they didn't keep the water cold enough. This one does much better at that function. When I first unpacked it the siphon would not let any water through. One of the secret technologies that allows this container to stay so cold is that the chamber is sealed against outside air. In mine the lips of the seal on the air vent were stuck together. Apparently for some people with a new device fresh out of the box the vent lips are partially closed which makes a whistling sound. But it's easy enough to fix - just poke them apart. Now it works perfectly.
