I've had 2 hoses: a Flexogen and a ordinary hardware store hose for more than ten years. The ordinary hose had a pinhole leak that I tolerated but the constant kinking and the ugly way it hung on my wall hanger finally made me decide to replace it and now I have 2 Flexogens. One note: I decided to go with the half-inch size because I never need huge volumes of water going through the hose. I like the lighter weight; it is easier to manage than my 5/8 inch one. 3/22/13 UPDATE: Recently I noticed some bulging in the hose and realized the laminations must have separated. However the hose was still not leaking at all, just looked kind of funny and seemed a little more prone to kinking. I cut off the ends and mailed them to Gilmour and after a month with no replacement I was concerned and e-mailed them. They e-mailed right back within an hour apologizing, saying they were out of stock and would ship the new hose ASAP. It arrived by UPS exactly a week later. I've decided to deduct a star for the slow response, maybe it was a fluke, but it seems suspicious that a manufacturer would be out of stock. I think they just lost track of my return and didn't want to admit it.
