I almost didn't order these because of some of the low ratings, however, the price was right. One issue some customers seemed to have was that the curlers didn't get very hot. I assure you, the curlers get VERY hot. It takes 10 minutes for the curlers to heat up. Keep the cover closed while heating them. I always use a little mousse in my hair when I dry it. After I put the curlers in, I sprayed with hair spray and again when I took them out and styled my hair. I have VERY thick, coarse hair. It is chin length and somewhat naturally wavy (the top is straight, the sides are curly). These curlers worked great. The sizes are a good choice for my hair length. I did take me a few minutes to realize the pins that hold the curlers are COLOR CODED, lol! Once I figured that out, the pins held great. Hope this helps someone decide if these curlers are right for you.
