Last summer we bought a Haier 5000 BTU unit for our own bedroom; this summer our son needed one for his room as well so we decided to try out this highly-rated Frigidaire. So glad we did! This unit is very quiet, cools his entire room (~150 sq ft) within minutes, and pushes the air throughout the room very efficiently. It also fits very well in his small dormer window. (In comparison, our Haier - for which we paid only $10 less than the Frigidaire - is about as loud as a jet plane, takes about 10 minutes to make a difference in the temp of our equally-sized room, and requires our ceiling fan to really get the cool air circulating.) I want to be selfish and switch the machines so my husband and I have the quieter, cooler unit, but instead I'll be a nice mommy and just save up for another Frigidaire. :)
