I don’t typically write reviews or if I do they’re short, but once in awhile there is a product that deserves attention, good or bad. I had no interest in a security cam until some neighbors had captured video of some creep on their property. Okay, I guess it can’t hurt. First couple weeks I thought it was a dumb idea since all I got were notifications of movement that were either my partner or the gardener. This morning there was a notification that had come in at 4:17 AM. I was ready to open a video of a tree blowing in the wind, maybe a cat running through the yard, but instead it was this creep that actually came up onto our porch for a good minute and a half, and you can see him looking in through a window at the top of the stairs. I freaked out!!! I hadn’t turned on the alarm feature for worry it would be easily set off and neighbors would gripe, but it’s going on now! When I think about this guy being right outside the French doors to my bedroom I just get chills, and the alarm would have sent him on his way. I posted the video on our community site and everyone has commented on the clarity. Neighbors with a more expensive Ring flood light said the quality was better on my cam, and several have asked for a link to the Amazon listing. I know I’m getting another one for the other side of the house. The video I included is a good example of the night vision I could only post one, but after the spotlight came on there is footage of him leaving in full color and very well lit. It turns out that a neighbor had encountered this guy earlier and called the police, but nothing much they could do with out more details. Now they have approximate age, build and height...hair style, a bandaged right hand right down to the detail on his tennis shoes Also have to mention that the first one I received had a defect and I could not link it - the customer service could not have been nicer or faster in their response. If I could have one added feature it would be that it sends an alarm (not a notification) especially during specified hours. I’m getting notifications all day from various apps, this app is too important
