So far I am very happy with the Don Pablo coffees
So far I am very happy with the Don Pablo coffees. I've tried the "Subtle Earth Organic", "Signature Blend", and "Colombian Supremo" in a Saeco Intuita super-automatic espresso machine.
An opinion on coffee is nearly as subjective as music or art preferences, so here's my feeling on some major brands and how I think the Don Pablo compares:
Coffees I don't like:
- McDonald's (not to be gross, but it leaves an acidic/sour taste in my mouth similar to a small amount of vomit)
- Dunkin Donuts (better than McDonald's, but still too fruity and acidic.)
- Starbucks (Too dark. Some exceptions below.)
Coffees I like:
- Peets (Domingo - Medium)
- Caribou (Caribou Blend - Medium)
- Starbucks (Veranda - Light, House - Medium) *House is just okay in my opinion.
Don Pablo:
- Subtle Earth Organic | 4.5 Stars = Smooth Chocolate & Cherry flavor. Very noticeable fruity taste (cherry, not citrus). However, it's not acidic or sour. Great tasting coffee, especially when iced.
- Signature Blend | 5 Stars = Very similar to "Subtle Earth Organic", only slightly less cherry flavor. Still noticeable. Tastes just as good.
- Colombian Supremo | 4 Stars = Smooth and less complex than the other two. No noticeable chocolate flavor and not fruity at all. I think it is roasted a bit longer than the other two. It tastes good and I can't find any fault in it, it's just the most boring of the three. People who enjoy a straight up, non-complex coffee experience would appreciate it the most.
All three are "Medium Dark" roasts and I find them comparable to Starbucks "Medium" roast.
