Great for Cats Who Are Under Extreme Stress Or For Cat Introductions
I am a certified cat behaviorist and a registered veterinary technician. I am constantly have to work with behavior problems such as multiple cat conflict, spraying or inappropriate urination as the result of stress, aggression toward owners or to strangers and so on. I have used Composure treats mostly when I work with getting cats to get along and want to have both cats calm for the part of the introduction where I introduce the baby gate or integrate a door stop into the house. While I don't have room to type out my cat introduction protocol (you can find that out on my website) - I give all cats that I am currently working with one composure treat in the morning and one in the evening for cats who are experiencing extreme stress. This can be used alongside other supplements like Safe Space for cats and Stress Stopper. You may even use Feliway diffusers and Feliway spray to make a powerful duo or trio of products to facilitate a smooth introduction. I have been using this product lately in the shelter setting for cats who are stressed out by the change in the environment and in their life. It helps them navigate the tough waters of transitioning until they are confident enough that they do not need a supplement. I even use it in cats prior to a tough veterinary visit or transport which helps to calm them down prior to the veterinarian drawing blood or administering anesthetics/analgesics.
