My cat scrapes litter like it is her job and she is following a mission statement. She does it before she goes and then with an unparalleled focused intensity after the 'event'. In her regular litter box she would fling it in a pattern that would arc out about 6 feet in all directions. I don't know exactly what motivates her, but she hecking was going to cover that piddle. Well, now that she has this new high sided litter box she has stepped up her game. Swing away batter - this one is going out of the park. So, it didn't completely solve the problem because she is a dedicated little worker - but now the resulting scatter is much reduced.
