My 17 y.o. cat has kidney disease and needs to drink like it's his job. He has two other fountains but almost always chooses the bathtub instead. With his kidney levels recently climbing, I wanted him to have a water next to where he sleeps in case he reaches a point of not feeling well enough to walk to the tub. I had hoped this fountain would have the qualities he likes about the tub, mainly that it's set up like a faucet and he can stick his head under the stream while drinking from the puddle below. So far, it looks very promising. He's made several visits to it in the last two days and walks away soaked and happy. If your cat's needs and preferences are similar to his, this may be what you've been looking for. If you're putting this in an area that's sensitive to some splashing water, you'll want to protect the area around it somehow.
