I was informed by our vet that salmon oil was a good nutritional supplement for cats and dogs to provide anti-inflammatory properties and keep their skin and coat healthy and shiny. We are on the second week of applying a dollop (approx. 1-2 TBSP) on their meal. Our younger German Shepherd has a sensitive digestive tract and this oil seems to be settling well as we have not seen any adverse effects (such as diarrhea which happens often with new foods). Our elder German Shepherd likes salmon so he is quite attracted to the scent and taste. Thus far I would recommend this oil if your dog is fond of fish. The smell from the oil itself is not overpowering but if it ends up on your skin, just wash with a fragrant soap if you don't want your cats following you around to lick your hands. Additionally, when I received the bottle of oil, it DID NOT include a PUMP and the measuring cup was shattered. I have messaged the seller for a pump (as image depicts). As of this review, I have yet to receive a reply. The oil can be poured directly onto the food; it would be more convenient to have a pump - it was a selling point.
