An amazing device that hits all the right spots.
This watch is absolutely everything you want. The design is smooth and sleek while still being comfortable and easy to wear throughout the day. Wireless charging and a fantastic battery keep the watch running two days at a time without any need for a charge up. The face and screen itself is brilliant and crisp while still being snappy and responsive. The outside tactical turn dial is rather handy and you quickly find yourself using it constantly. The voice recognition is all but perfect through the watch even in crowded rooms or on noisy city streets.
Now having told you all the good things about this beautiful watch, I'd like to address a few problems I see people having in their reviews, for which they feel compelled to leave a rather negative review for the device, when truly the problem lies with the user, not the system.
Firstly, this watch works with any Android 4.4 or higher OS and requires your device to have at least 1.5 gigs of RAM. So no, your three to four year old Sony/LG/Motorola low end phone you bought for a dollar with your carrier contract upgrade isn't going to cut it. If you've got a spare $300 for this watch, you should have the cash to put up for a nice device to support it. If you don't feel that the $200-$300 you pay for high end devices is justifiable, then you obviously don't have the kind of money needed to be spending that same amount on a watch either.
For all you morons out there saying things like, "BUT THIS WATCH ISN'T AS BIG AS MY FLAT SCREEN TV AND DOESN"T HAVE AS MANY APPS AS MY LAPTOP" please, please, go do even the smallest amount of research before you fire off at the mouth on the internet. Yes, the display is smaller than the last model. Mainly because the last S model watch was about the size of a 747 and looked terrible and ridiculous. Additionally, and I know this is going to require some basic understanding of higher math so I'm going to lose a few of you here, but given the same diameter, a square naturally has more surface area than a circle. So yes, it will be smaller. I know, I know, physics is a harsh mistress. And of course, having launched a few DAYS ago,(at the time of this review) you can't expect the app market to be littered with a bunch of stupid crap to amuse you. I'm sorry that Instagram and Vine haven't been able to get around to pandering to you troglodytes yet, but I'm sure they will very soon. You are after all the idiots who spend money on in app purchases like image filters and finishing your Farmville tractor repair right this minute. One reviewer wrote about how there were not so many free new watch faces in the store yet. I mean the model comes with 17 customizable watch faces that display all sorts of data. Of course you wouldn't be satisfied with any of those and expect to be provided(within the first few weeks of release) another hundred options and expect them to be free of charge. Another reviewer said that he was so upset because this watch didn't have a calculator app. How often do you need a CALCULATOR in your day to day existence? Basic math isn't that hard and if you're consistently in a situation where you can't get out your phone but need to add something up, you have bigger life problems. I'm going to guess you're one of those people who can't do a percentage off problem in your head while shopping at the mall with your besties and saw this watch as your salvation. Oh, and by the way, there IS a calculator app for the watch now.
As for those of you who are so upset that this watch doesn't do phone calls. Let me clue you in a secret. Anyone who has ever taken a call on their watch in public is a douchebag. We have proven this scientifically using things like "common sense" and "our eyeballs". In the same way no one wants you to whip out your phone and put it on speaker so we can hear just how bad Shanaynay did you wrong, we don't want you to do it on a watch either. The functionality was removed from the base model, but you can still SEND audio on a call, giving you the ability to tell someone from the watch that you will call them back. The functionality of full phone calls is still on the higher end model, which can use 3G. If you're such a baller and absolutely must Dick Tracy your phone calls, then spend the extra 50 bucks and live your dream. And for those of you that would say "But I use the watch to take phone calls in my car!" I refer you back to my previous statement about not being able to afford these kinds of things. If you own a car that doesn't have Bluetooth built in and yet have 300 dollars for a watch, you need to start examining your financial priorities. Chances are however you own a car with Bluetooth built in, but don't know how to connect it or use it, seeing as it has come standard on almost every car since about four years ago.
That rounds out my setting the record straight.
TL;DR
It's a great watch, buy it.
