I have to say up front, I have a love/hate relationship with these motion activated toilet lights. I think they are designed to be the most disgusting, unsanitary products for the very reason that they interact with your toilet. To this day, I can't believe these companies haven't designed something better, where aren't actually sticking a light wand into the toilet bowl where it can be easily urinated on. So, let me get that point out of the way before I delve further into this review. As much as hate the way these things are designed, I am particularly struck in a very positive way by the design of this product by HONEST. Now, I have owned several of these kind of toilet night lights in the past. The most popular night light is sold by Illumibowl. You can buy it here on Amazon, but I would highly advise you do not. What separates this product from the Illumibowl product is how it attaches to your toilet -- and that should be the single reason when considering this purchase. The Illumibowl uses small suction cups. They are horrible. I have gone through not one, not two, but three of their night light products. Two did not work out of the box. The third did -- but in all cases -- the motion sensor box would not stay attached to the bowl. The suction cups were not strong enough. This Best Light Motion product takes a different approach. It has a stiff arm that wraps around the rim of the bowl to hold the sensor in place. I really like this approach, as it doesn't rely on suction cups and won't slide off the side of the bowl. The installation was very simple. You install 3 AAA batteries in the rear of the case, wrap the arm around the rim of your toilet, and turn off the lights. The motion detector works perfectly out of the box. As you approach the toilet, the small light brightens the entire bowl with your choice of colors, or if selected, a random array of different colors. For once, I am very happy to receive a product like this that actually worked the first time. This light is truly a cut above the best-selling Illumibowl product. I think you can buy this with complete confidence that it will work well.
