Don't listen to the book purists who don't like change. I love Robert Jordan's work, but this series needed some serious updating if it was going to survive adaptation in 2021. The creators clearly know the heart and soul of the series, and they are finding fresh ways to tell this story effectively, and in much less time than Jordan's 15 books. WoT is a hard series to recommend because despite its depth and vastness and charm, it's also slow and tedious at times, and in the first book, typical to a fault. This show is promising to dig into everything that makes WoT valuable, pull it out of the dirt and dust, and polish it to a shine.
