Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I hesitated to give this a fully 5 star review because of a couple of "cons" which I will mention later. First I have to tell you that I am 82 years old. I have 2 lovely and wonderful cats. One is a year and half the other just just a half . I always read the reviews when I'm purchasing from Amazon and rarely send in one. But I had to on this because I read the reviews from others and want to give my experiences. I have had a cat for about 20 years now. I love them I think they are fascinating companions. But you don't walk them so they use a "litter box". And one way or another you can't get away from that simple fact. Up until now I have always used open boxes and after testing almost every little made I finally settled on "Worlds Best litter. And when I got the second kitty I went to the litter for multiple cats which my girls didn't care for. So now I mix it and they seem content. The open litter boxes worked until I was informed by my children that I had to move closer to them and in a smaller place. So I began to research boxes. I finally settles on this one primarily because it was unique. I ordered this box and used it a couple of weeks before we moved so that Abby and Sassy could learn to use it and I would not give them too big of an adjustment. From the second day they never used the open boxes again. by the end of the week I had picked up the open boxes and gotten rid of them. Because I have two cats I put a mixture of Worlds Best liter for multiple little and the regular little in the box. I have only one box for the two cats. I empty "roll" once daily and I clean it weekly - opening the box wiping everything down, checking the liter and putting the lid back on. I totally change the liter about every three weeks or so. At least that has been the pattern so far. . The pros are -- there is absolutely no odor in this small apartment. My cats love it therefore I love it. It's kind of a "hoot" to roll it and hear the waste going into the container. The little gizmo they fashioned at the door catches almost all the litter on the kitties feet so that when you roll it it rolls back into the box and I've discovered that I seem to waste much less liter this way than when I was picking it up with the liter shovel. And it is surprisingly easy to take apart and put back together. And you really don't get your hands dirty. The cons are obvious. You have to have a space large enough where you place it to be able to roll it. You can't put it in a corner or hallway etc so in a small place so have to give some thought to where your going to put . On the other hand it is perfect for a small place because my cats are diggers but the litter doesn't escape. And, i have admit you have to be physical enough to roll it. I have mine in the 2nd bath shower. Would I buy it again, yes. Would I recommend it yes - with that single warning. Frankly, I think the creation of it is ingenious and very well thought out.
