Great For $10
These lights are made by a few different manufacturers, and a few reports were of "other than Hausbell" brand being shipped. The ones I received came in a white Hausbell box (the one box held both lights, each wrapped in bubble wrap) and the light had Hausbell on one side and CREE on the other. You get two per order, but my review will only mention one light. The light is 3-3/4" long and 1" in diameter at the body tube; the head and tailcap are thicker. The LED is a CREE Q5, and came centered nicely for the price of the lights. The lens is convex, allowing you to adjust the "flood" of the beam. Push it all the way out for a tight beam, and pull it in for an area beam. While zoomed "in" you can see a square image; this is the magnified LED itself in the beam. Shining the beam on a wall from 2-1/2 feet away, I got these beam diameters (edge to edge)... Zoomed all the way in: 2" spread. Zoomed all the way out: 18" spread. The tailcap has an orange switch cover, and it's a reverse clicky. Click it to turn it on, and then you can press the switch softly to momentarily turn it off. This can be used for signalling. There are no High or Low modes; the light is either on or off. The pocket clip is attached with two Torx (T-6) screws, and they allow the light to be carried bezel-down with about 3-4" of the light sticking out of your pocket. Since it's held on with the screws, it can be removed, but no positioned anywhere else on the light. The light runs on one AA battery (alkaline, lithium, or NiMH) or lithium ion (14500). I got the following output and runtime from them: Duracell alkaline: Output peaked at 91 lumens and gradually dropped, reaching 10% at 3 hours and 58 minutes. AW 14500 battery: Output peaked at 232 lumens and dropped quickly, reaching 10% at 2 hours and 43 minutes. However, the light got very hot. So, at $5 a piece, these flashlights are pretty good. They don't have the build quality of a SureFire or even an Inova, but they're fair for the price. It's a simple one-mode flashlight that uses a commonly-available battery at a low price. Try one out for your toolbox, glove compartment, or backpack.
