My backyard is 120' across with a 12' tall evergreen hedge that I use as a privacy wall rather than a wooden fence. Over the years I have annually paid $200-$300 for someone to trim it. With the proper tool I could do it myself but in the past have been unable to find a reasonably priced pole trimmer that would do the job. Last week I found the Earthwise 2-1 pole trimmer and purchased it. I used it today and it works great! With the "2-1" feature, I first trimmed the lower portion of the entire hedge using the trimmer itself, then attached the "pole" and completed the top portion. The entire trim job took less than two hours...not including the clean-up. My only negative comment is the specifications/advertisement states it is a 10-12' pole (depending on seller). This is not true! It is actually a little over 6 1/2' long with the pole attached. When I received the trimmer I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't extend to the full length. Upon reading the owners manual I found that the length advertised includes the height of the operator. I mention this so that potential buyers of aware of this misconception. All-in-all though it's a great product and would recommend it highly.
