I assume I got a defective item -- though looking at the failure point (see the photo), I have to think this has to be rather common. All I was doing is pruning some small branches in my backyard when these shears collapsed. Not much else to say other than this is the first time I have pruning shears fail catastrophically on me in this manner that cannot be repaired. And I haven't even used them more than a few times. UPDATE: After posting this feedback I was promptly contacted by the seller, explaining the issue and offering a full refund. The seller did ask me to update the review as well, which I think is fair given that they seem to stand firmly behind their product.
