[+] THE REVIEW I take this primarily to increase the levels of choline in the brain. The benefit of taking Alpha GPC over other choline supplements is that it delivers choline across the blood-brain barrier more quickly and efficiently. For example, I would take this just before taking a test or if I was having brain fog as I would want to boost my brain's cognitive function as fast as possible. When I first started taking Apha GPC, it had an almost overwhelming effect as I could feel the effects very well. I did notice that after taking them for a while, the effects seemed to disapate. Maybe that's because my mind was not as dysfunctional as before, so the effects between a dysfunctional brain and a function one then becomes less. Or, it is also possible that there is sort of diminished effects as the body gets used to the Alpha GPC. I have no idea which is the case; however, I still feel that the improvement is there after taking the product. Pros: - Delivers more choline to the brain - Able to cross the blood-brain barrier more easily Cons: - More expensive than taking other choline supplements [+] ACETYLCHOLINE NEUROTRANSMITTER Acetylcholine (ACh) is a neurotransmitter that is required for the synapses to fire (i.e., the process of thought). Without it, no cognitive function can take place. Therefore, if the brain is not producing enough ACh then it is reasonable to expect diminished cognitive function. The Acetylcholine neurotransmitter is made up of two groups, which are Acetyl group plus the Choline group. This product supplies the Choline group to that equation. Therefore, this product supplies the precursor (i.e., one of the building blocks) to the formation of the acetylcholine neurotransmitter.
