We were hit by a driver who drove through a red light and hit us square on the drivers side of our Prius. The passenger side of the hood and fender entered our car where my three year old sat. The impact deployed the side curtain airbag but this was not enough to stop the car invading our car further. What saved my sons life was the bolstering around the head area of his car seat...his Britax car seat. I had to replace both of our sons car seats so when I went looking for replacements i was determined never to buy a car seat without ensuring as much side impact protection for my children as is obtainable. The insurance company was paying for them and I wanted the best no matter the cost. I bought this one for my five year old. He is tall enough and heavy enough to be able to use the rear seat belt along with this booster. The belt goes easily through the clip between his legs and he is easily able to buckle himself in. The padding is both comfortable and safe...I hope. This seat is heavy but so are the cars that try to enter our car during accidents.
