Last November, I switched from ATT uVerse ADSL+2 to Cox Communications cable Internet. Thus, I needed new internet hardware. I tried the NetGear Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Extender. It was OK. However, the initial set-up failed. NetGear tech support is horrible. I finally got it working by myself. I was not impressed. I returned the NetGear. Next, I tried the TP-LINK AC1900 Wi-Fi Range Extender. Oh WOW, it is awesome! PROS: 1. Installation and set-up with DEFAULT settings was very easy and smooth. 2. TP-LINK tech support is incredibly helpful. I needed help with tweaking the advanced settings. I called tech support. The TP-Link technician was highly knowledgeable and patient. She walked me through every step of the way in adjusting advanced settings to my satisfaction. 3. The WiFi range is incredible. It covers every inch of my 3-story house at full WiFi strength. Also, I have full WiFi strength on my front and back porches. I get 75% WiFi strength on the 2.4 ghz band out by my pool. 4. The TP-Link WiFi Extender works like a dream with the TP-LINK CR700 Cable Modem Router. Connectivity between TP-Link devices is literally automatic and smooth. 5. I have not experienced any issues at all with this TP-Link. 6. The TP-Link’s price is the lowest of any high-end WiFi Range Extender. CONS: Absolutely no negatives about this TP-Link WiFi Extender…though it might be ‘overkill’ for some people. Read my notes. SUMMARY: I am completely satisfied with the performance and WiFi range of the TP-LINK AC1900 Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender. I would recommend it to my own family and friends. NOTES: As noted above, I use the TP-LINK CR700 Cable Modem Router for my COX Internet. I bought it along with the TP-Link AC1900 Range Extender. To be perfectly honest, I probably did not need the TP-Link Ranger Extender…because the TP-Link Cable Router Modem delivered 80% WiFi signal strength at the furthest points INSIDE my house. HOWEVER, the TP-Link Cable Modem Router’s signal died at the exterior walls. SO, the TP-Link Range Extender allows me to have great WiFi strength outside on my porches and in my yard.
