8-10 bananas? Um, no.
I was given this as a gift, and was on the fence about whether we would use it or even needed another kitchen appliance. The negative reviews on here aren''t true to MY experience with this machine at all. First of all, no one should be eating a large enough serving of this to merit 8-10 bananas for three servings, as one review claims. I mean, would you eat three bananas yourself, in one sitting? I wouldn't. Maybe a bear, preparing for hibernation, would need to tear through that much fruit at once. For the rest of you, just plan on using normal-sized portions of fruit. We typically do a couple of chunks of frozen banana mixed with about a half cup of mangos, peaches, pineapple and/or strawberries. You can even buy these things pre-frozen, fairly cheap, right off the shelf. A $2 normal-sized 1-pound sack of mango chunks, for example, will make four or five servings. I can't imagine why anyone would get on here trying to talk people out of adding fruit to their diets by using this machine. It certainly isn't going to break the bank any more than eating a normal, human-sized amount of fruit. And honestly, truly, really, if you wash right after use, the fruit doesn't stick. Sitting around for a few hours and drying onto the parts is the only thing that would make it stick. The price on this machine was recently reduced; this makes a compelling argument for giving it a try. I really can't fathom the two-star reviews. Crazy town.
