Does the Job Well
The Outus Fabric Fusing Tape doesn't arrive with any bells and whistles, as you can see in the attached photo. It doesn't even come with directions for that matter. It does do the job well on medium density clothing. If you've never used this sort of tape before, you can follow the directions I've suggested below. 1. Check and be certain that the material you want to fuse is safe for ironing then proceed. 2. Create a hem in the material by folding it to the desired length; leave at least 2 inches of excess material longer than the desired length and trim the material there (the excess helps avoid mistakes). 3. Use a dry iron on the lowest setting to crease the hem in your material (this keeps the tape from moving around when placed in the hem). 4. Cut a piece of the tape to length or in two manageable pieces then place the tape within the hem and secure the hem with stick pins. Be sure to place the pins above the tape for easier removal). 5. Using an iron on a medium steam setting and working in sections, press the iron over the hem for ten seconds at a time. When you've gone around the entire hem, run the iron around the entire hem then allow the material to cool. 6. After the material has cooled, check the adhesion by gently tugging at the hem; if it's secure, remove the pins; if it isn't, repeat the process. * Things to Note Directions for adhesive tape often include using a wet cloth between a dry iron and the material instead of using steam. I've done both and I prefer the steam method. It seems to work better. There is a piece of protective plastic covering both spools of tape. Remove that prior to using or you'll be sorely disappointed.
