Very Good Quality-Exceeded My Expectations
I read a lot of the reviews for this product before buying it so I was both optimistic and nervous. There were enough positive reviews regarding the materials quality that I was convinced it must really be made of solid wood. On the other hand, there were a fair number of negative comments regarding how well the parts fit together. My expectations were exceeded in every way. I have assembled many products more complicated than this one and I do a lot of handy work (my brother and I just finished building my house from scratch), so I'm pretty good at being able to identify whether or not an item is a quality product. This storage cart is a quality product, especially for the price. During my research, I found a very similar product for $100 more but decided to take a chance on this one and I'm glad I did. The item arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Each piece is individually wrapped and there are lots of Styrofoam layers between and around the pieces to prevent damage during shipping. Though the assembly instructions consist of a bunch of pictures without descriptive text, the pictures are very clear and assembly was a breeze. All that's required is a Philips screwdriver and the included hex wrench. Just take your time and follow the pictures carefully. Some of the pieces look very similar but aren't identical so you need to install them in the right place. The cart pieces are solid wood (not particle board or MDF) so the screws drive firmly into the pieces and hold it all together nice and tightly. The only veneer is the back panel and the side panels (oh yeah, and the bottom of the drawer). These resemble thin pieces of paneling that slide into grooves routed into the solid wood frame and it's all very sturdy when it's completed. When I got it all put together, the right side door wouldn't close completely because the hinges were sprung inward. I simply popped the door back off and tapped the hinges outward with a hammer to "unspring" them. Upon replacing the door, it now fit perfectly and closed completely. I've included a few pictures of the finished product. One pointer I would give for someone who hasn't had much experience assembling prefab. furniture is that you not be too aggressive about tightening all the fittings as you go. It's better to get it all together barely tightened and then go back and uniformly tighten the fittings making a few circuits on all the fasteners. This will sometimes alleviate issues with the final product not fitting together squarely. I would definitely recommend this product and would buy it again if I needed another similar item.
