Not finished reading, but...
I wanted to give this book a review as there were none when looked I through the First Reads options for May 2022. A third of the way in I can say that the writing is well-balanced and the author is a good story teller. It would be an easy thing to allow the emotional rawness the author still feels from her childhood to overwhelm the story. Ms. Chisholm does not take that road. I'm grateful I took a chance on this selection. It's one of the true, interesting discoveries I've come across in the First Reads program. Thank you!
